Missing Grace

ZELDA ARMSTRONG

Sadly, we have to report that Grace Stevenson, a much-loved member of the newsletter
committee, passed away in August. Grace was a founding member of the newsletter at
the Northview Branch in 1994. As the newsletter grew and became a part of OSCC as a
whole, she continued to write and to guide the committee with her wisdom and humour. Grace submitted her final article this year at age 96. How will we go on without her?

As well as her work with the newsGraceletter, Grace was a committed volunteer in other areas of OSCC’s life. She attended and led writing courses and book clubs, was a member of many committees over the years, regularly played scrabble and helped with several innovative projects. Recently Grace reminisced about a project in which she had been involved that paired young people and seniors. She was very touched when the boy who had been her partner visited her to tell her about his career and family and how his life had unfolded.

Grace was a lovely, vibrant woman who lived life to the full. All her friends at OSCC will miss her.
